Development of rapid die cooling technology using the Groove Pressing method in hot stamping process

Abstract The demand for hot stamping parts in the automobile industry is increasing due to growth of eco-friendly vehicles with improved crash safety performance and lighter weight. However, use ultra-high-strength steel cold challenging its high yield strength low elongation. Hot a widely used process overcome this challenge, but long die quenching time reduces productivity. In order address issue, Groove Pressing method was applied sidewall improve cooling without requiring additional devices within die. study investigated required contact pressure between sheet implementation groove shape on sidewall. Computational analysis performed design optimal sidewall, results showed that Case 3 most suitable terms pressure. incorporated into making, experiments were conducted aluminized coated 22MnB5 1.2 mm sheet. performance, dimensional quality, mechanical properties affecting corrosion resistance component. demonstrates potential as practical solution improving productivity industry.
